Reverend Joseph Kabongo is a pastor of Congolese origin, naturalized Swiss, who began his pastoral ministry at the age of 25. His academic background is rich and varied, including a certificate in international humanitarian law from the Geneva Peace Research Institute at the United Nations.

In 1982, he was responsible for youth work at the Protestant Church of Geneva in Thônex. Since 2002, he has been a member of the executive committee of the John Knox International Reformed Centre in Geneva, where he became vice-president in 2023. He played a key role in the creation of TEAG alongside Lukas Vischer and contributed to the development of its vision. An active member of the movement since its inception, he has served as an advisor to each current coordinator.

He was elected TEAG coordinator for a six-month term effective June 2, 2025.
